A large slate of candidates are vying for several local and state positions. The Petal Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting candidate forums on July 10 and July 11 at the Petal Civic Center. The public is encouraged to attend and learn more about each candidate.

The following offices will be on the agenda for July 10: Forrest County Supervisor District 3, State Representative District 104, Forrest Co. Tax Collector, Forrest County Circuit Clerk, and Forrest Co. Coroner.

The slate for July 11 features: Forret County Supervisor District 2, State Senator District 42, Tax Assessor, Justice Court Judge, Forrest Co. Sheriff and Forrest Co. Prosecuter.
