Join Petal Healing Garden for Grub in the Garden with Felder Rushing on Saturday, September 24th. This event will be held at the city community garden site located behind Russell Sports Complex. To access the garden, follow Logan Street (beside Petal Sonic) to the end, then take a left. Horticulturist and host of MPB’s Gestalt Gardener, Felder Rushing, will share his gardening expertise, Dragon the Wagon food truck will be there serving delicious food, and there will be plant and seed swap. Attendees are requested to make a $5 donation to the garden. Bring your lawn chairs, plants for the swap, and gardening questions from 9am – 12noon. We’ll see you at the garden!
Petal Healing Garden is a 501(c)3 non-profit community garden founded in November 2021 to provide fresh produce to food insecure families and reduce waste in the Petal community. The mission is to educate people of all ages, income levels, and abilities by reconnecting them with local food systems and teaching gardening and nutrition education. The goal is to unify the community one seed at a time. Currently, there are two garden sites in the city of Petal.
In addition to attending Grub in the Garden, you can support the community garden by donating via PayPal to @petalhealinggarden or by providing compost, filler for raised beds, gardening tools, and labor for the garden.
