The Petal Presbyterian Church Choir will be joined by a chamber orchestra and singers from the University of Southern Mississippi to present Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in D minor. The composer intended this work to capture the serenity of eternal rest from an inward and somber perspective. Instead of the symphonic version most commonly performed, we have chosen to use the version of the Requiem that calls for string sextet, 2 french horns, harp, and organ. This intimate group in our sanctuary will so excellently evoke the sacrifice which we commemorate on Good Friday.
